Covid-19 Update from Port Elgin Veterinary Services
Updated: January 12, 2021
Dear Clients and Friends:
While we passionately believe animals deserve to receive continued essential veterinary care during the COVID-19 pandemic, our clinic has taken significant steps to minimize the risk of transmission to our staff and clients. We are restricted to a locked door policy in order for us to remain open which meant that clients will not be permitted inside the hospital with their pet.
Monday to Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 8am-noon
Increased sanitation between appointments is required to prevent the transmission and spread of Covid-19, this has also reduced the number of appointments that we can accommodate daily. Please plan ahead to schedule non-urgent appointments, we typically are scheduling ahead by a minimum of 3 weeks.
If you have an emergency please call in to the clinic and we will triage your concerns to ensure your pet receives timely care for urgent or emergency needs.
We ask that you call from your vehicle to notify us of your arrival for your scheduled appointment, our staff will come out to check in your pet and bring them into the clinic for their appointment. We ask you to remain on the property for the duration of your appointment to give the veterinarian the opportunity to speak to you regarding your pet's appointment and/or recommendations for further care or treatment. Your pet will be returned to you at the end of your appointment (or at time of discharge dependent on care required). Payment for your visit can be processed using the portable point of sale terminal for credit card or debit transactions.
For food purchases and medication refills, we ask that you call ahead:
FOOD purchases; we currently recommend that you plan ahead by 5-7 days MEDICATION REFILLS; we recommend that you plan ahead by 7-10 days (you will receive notification when the refill is ready for pick up)
Food and Medication orders will be available for curbside pick up:
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturday 9am-noon Please call the clinic from the parking lot or knock on our front door: Staff will come outside with your items where you can complete your payment using the portable point of sale terminals for credit card or debit transactions.
We regret that we are unable accept new clients at this time due to overwhelming demand for appointment times. We hope that this is a temporary measure and are maintaining a waitlist. We hope it won't be long until will be able to lift this restriction. If you would like to be added to our waitlist, please call the clinic and we will be happy to add you.
